But I was thinking this morning on my way to an interview that The Hyatt regency at Embarcadero Center or the Sir Francis Drake Hotel would be great for a Westercon.... Or similar sized convention. 'scuse my while I go get the bleach...

Well, the Sir Francis Drake hosted a Westercon in the 1960s or 70s, I think. I wasn't alive yet, but I was a part of a long conversation with a bunch of old timers who all talked about it.

The Hyatt has it's pluses and minuses, and yes, I've thought of starting a bid for it in the past but decided that a redesign of the entire Westercon concept was a much better idea.

Of course, once you start lookign at hotels through the eyes of event space, all hope is lost.
