So instead of bailing out the banks, the fed should just buy them all, offer credit to everyone at an equal rate, and tell everyone to STFU, things are just fine :)

Eh. Maybe. I had thoughts of Bailing out the banks with a loan at interest. Use the money that is earned on interest and reinvest into the American people. Through education, infrastructure, and social programs. Oh and force the banks to rewrite the loans for bad paper to reasonable terms at a loss or at significant loss of a profit margin.
