Getting out.

... I need to do more of it. Last night I was drug/beaten/cajoled/bribed to get out of the house and I did so. I ended up going to a Wednesday night meeting I hadn't been to in a little over three years. It was fun actually. I tend to get nervous in new social situations as I never know what to expect or how the dynamics and politics of the setting will change. However, seeing familiar people and getting in some good zingers on Miss C, made it all the worth while. It reminded me that the last couple of years I have been living like a hermit and that sometimes the best way to get out of a funk is to get out of the house. I need to remember this more often.

I was very glad to meet you last night at the munch. I know the sort of funks you're talking about because I get them too. And I *always* find (though I don't always do so) that when I get out and hang with friends it always helps. I invariably leave munches and discussion groups in a really great mood. Sadly, /I/ don't always get to capitalize on the good mood after, but oh well. :D
