I just hope that such predictions -- everyone seems to be doing it lately -- aren't going to dissuade people from voting. There's been a fair amount of discussion on this point lately and I must admit it would be very interesting to see what would happen if the media were banned from any predictive statements or public polling. :-)

IT would be an interesting question really. Im not sure that there is going to be a dissuasion of voting via the fact of predictions. However Voter intimidation will most likely happen, as well as a big fight to get peoples votes not counted. Though with something like a 60% turnout. Its going to be monumental election. for the record the US hasn't had a turn out this big since a liberal catholic from New England was elected in 1960.
