I hate this form. This constant reminder that I sacrificed much of my youth and who I could have been for money. While I have no regrets about what I did. I still hate the form in all of its entirety. However, this form allows me certain perks and an elevated status amongst the Federal Government. One being, that I have or will have had the Montgomery GI Bill and Navy college fund. This is the option that currently brings me to remembering this document. I had to bring a copy to De Anza to re-certify that I am a Vet and that I didn't get the boot for being bad. So off to the County Clerk's office I went, I have seem to have misplaced the original somewhere along the way, but took the advice of a Cheif on my way out the door. I took the original to a County Clerk and had them scan it into official records. That way, I can always get a certified copy when I need it. So if you have friends and loved one's serving, get them to take their's to the County and get it stored for life. The Added bonus is that I get 3 copies free anytime I go to get it. But I digress. So for now, I play the waiting game, one more piece of paperwork to be completed and I will have money coming in for 3 months starting in January.
